In November 2003 the Chamber of Polish Employers joined the European Confederation of Associations of Small and Medium-sized
Enterprises (
CEA-PME) in Brussels, which unites 10% of employers from the EU. This membership helps the Chamber contact with employers from other countries interested in cooperation with Polish companies. There is also forum of dialogue with European institutions.
The membership in CEA-PME gives the Chamber of Polish Employers great opportunities for representing united members with the EU institutions, environment's interests and for creating employers' lobby. Particularly nowadays, when Poland is a member of the EU, SMEs need contacts with institutions, in which strategic decisions are made.
Once a year the General Meeting of all CEA-PME members takes place, during which plans for the next year are discussed and all countries exchange their experience. In 2003 the General Meeting took place on 6-7 November in Brussels in Belgium. In 2004 it took place on 2-4 December in Istanbul in Turkey.
